Plant Sales and Links to Other Great Sites

This page lists groups that sponsor plant sales and other resources.

Here are some plant shows that take place every spring, some in the fall, too.

Through the Specialty Nursery Association of Clark County you will find many nurseries specializing in all sorts of plants. You'll also find information on shows and plant sales throughout the year. The Spring Home and Garden Idea Fair usually takes place on the last weekend in April at the Clark County Fairground.

The Hardy Plant Society of Oregon hosts some of the best plant sales in the area! Visit many nurseries with natives and unusual plants at their annual sales. The Spring Plant Sale, "Hortlandia," takes place at the Portland Expo Center (I-5 to exit 306B, west of the freeway).

The Leach Botanical Garden Spring Sale takes place in mid-April at Floyd Light Middle School, 10800 SE Washington St., Portland (east of I-205 and the 205 Mall).

The Clackamas County Master Gardeners will have their huge Spring Garden Fair at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds in Canby, OR, the first weekend in May

The Clark County Master Gardeners holds a Plant Sale on the weekend of Mother's Day, at the 78th Street Heritage Farm at 1919 NE 78th St. in Vancouver (Hazel Dell), WA. Contact the Master Gardeners for more info.

For other native plant resources try your local Soil and Water Conservation District (OR) or Conservation District (WA) - every county has at least one, and all have a native plant sale in early spring (but you may have to order plants the previous fall). Some of the larger districts may have plants available for a longer period.

Also try Wild Ginger Farm (near Portland, OR), Humble Roots (in the Columbia River Gorge), Naturescaping (in the Vancouver, WA area), Livingscape (in Portland, OR) or Watershed GardenWorks (north of Vancouver, WA in Longview).
